Families of Deceased to Receive Rs. 5 million, Injured to Get Rs. One million
The Sindh government has directed the provision of assistance for the families of the deceased and the injured in the bus accident. Following this, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced a compensation of Rs. 50 lakh per deceased victim and Rs. 10 lakh per injured victim.
At least 32 Pakistani pilgrims travelling to Iraq were killed after their bus met an accident in central Iran on Wednesday.
Out of the 28 deceased passengers, 10 were from Larkana, 6 from Kashmore, 4 from Khairpur, 3 from Qambar Shahdadkot, and 3 from Karachi. One each from Dadu and Jamshoro also lost their lives in the accident.
Of the 25 injured, 8 were from Larkana, 5 from Qambar Shahdadkot, 4 from Khairpur, and 3 from Dadu. One each from Naushahro Feroze, Shikarpur, Karachi, and Sehwan were also injured, while one was from Balochistan.
At the request of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has dispatched a C-130 aircraft to Iran to bring back the mortal remains of the deceased and the injured. The Sindh government has also arranged for ambulances to transport the bodies to their hometowns and the injured to hospitals. Air ambulances have been arranged to shift the injured to Karachi, if required.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has directed Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah to finalize the arrangements for receiving the bodies at the Sukkur and Jacobabad airports. On the other hand, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has also strongly condemned the attack on the police in Rahim Yar Khan. He expressed condolences to the families of the martyred police personnel and directed the Inspector General of Police, Sindh, to coordinate with the Punjab Police. The Chief Minister said that any assistance required by the Punjab Police should be provided immediately, and a joint operation plan against the dacoits should be formulated by the police forces of Sindh, Punjab, and Baluchistan. The Chief Minister assured that the Sindh government is ready to provide all possible support for the treatment of the injured police personnel.
