Sindh Government Accelerates Work on Red Line BRT Project

Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon Announces Completion of Tipu Sultan Underpass

The senior minister of Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has stated that on the direction of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari, work is ongoing day and night on the Red Line BRT. The construction of the Tipu Sultan underpass on the Red Line BRT has been completed, and only the finishing work remains, which will be completed within four days. The Malir Cantonment Road Tipu Sultan underpass and the adjoining road will be officially opened for the public from October 31st, and this project will greatly benefit the citizens of Karachi. Providing travel facilities to the citizens of Karachi is the top priority of the Sindh government.

Senior Minister of Information, Transport, Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Sharjeel Inam Memon, conducted a detailed visit of the Red Line BRT project. During his visit, the senior minister reviewed the progress of the work on the project and provided necessary instructions. At the beginning of the visit, the senior minister inspected the site along with the journalists.

During his conversation with the media to review the construction work of the Red Line BRT, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the Red Line BRT will be Pakistan’s first BRT project that will operate on bio-gas-powered buses, and this route will be 26 kilometers long. He mentioned that if this project was in rural areas, it would have been completed much earlier, but in urban areas, there are various obstacles and utilities-related issues that cause delays in the work.
