Karachi, August 22, 2024 – The Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, has called for the federal government to expedite the construction of motorways in the province, while also emphasizing the need for unity and cooperation for the betterment of Pakistan.

Speaking to the media after attending the 281st annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai at his shrine, CM Murad Ali Shah said, “Sindh is the land of Sufis and saints, just as Shah Latif had prayed, we too have prayed today that may Allah Almighty keep Sindh and our entire country prosperous and peaceful.”

Regarding the federal government’s invitation to Bilawal Bhutto, the Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, the Chief Minister said, “He is the chairman of a party that has representation in all four provinces, and in his capacity as the party’s leader, he is meeting the Prime Minister. He will speak not only for Sindh, but for the people of the entire Pakistan, and will also raise our issues.”

On the issue of law and order in Sindh, the Chief Minister stated that the situation has significantly improved compared to last year, and that incidents of kidnapping for ransom and dacoity have decreased substantially. He assured that the government, with the help of law enforcement agencies, will continue to eliminate the dacoits.

Addressing the issue of electricity and motorways, the Chief Minister said that the motorway from Multan to Sukkur, which is approximately 150 kilometers, is within Sindh, but the motorways from Hyderabad to Sukkur and Sukkur to Karachi have not been built. He has conveyed this concern to the current and previous Prime Ministers, and has requested the federal government to prioritize the construction of these motorways. Earlier, the Chief Minister visited the shrine of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, where he offered a chadar, held Fateha, listened to the poetry of the Shah, distributed clothes among the poor, and recorded his impressions in the visitor’s book. The provincial Minister of Culture, Syed Zulfiqar Shah, was also present on the occasion.
